It works both as a <strong>Museum<\/strong> and <strong>Workshop<\/strong> and is the outcome of twenty years of involvement with sculpture. The opening of the Museum took place on March 14, 2010.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In Axos Milopotamou of Crete<\/strong> (Greece), within an hour distance both from the city of Rethymno (45 km) and the city of Heraclion (43 km), in a natural landscape, <strong>more than one hundred handmade<\/strong> <strong>work arts<\/strong> made from a hummer and a chisel are exhibited in a new two-storey building 300 s.m.: <em>Traditional folk <\/em><em>forms<\/em><em>and<\/em><em>themes<\/em>(\u00abThe Lyre Player\u00bb, \u00abThe Cretan\u00bb, \u00abThe Grandfather and the Grandmother\u00bb, \u00abGoing to the Field\u00bb etc.), <em>representations<\/em><em>of<\/em><em>nature<\/em><em>and<\/em><em>our<\/em><em>ecological<\/em><em>system<\/em>(\u00abThe Eagle and the Snake\u00bb, \u00abThe Wild Goat\u00bb), <em>religious content<\/em> (\u00abThe Saint George of Dioskouri\u00bb, \u00abThe Wedding\u00bb), <em>social content<\/em> (\u00abThe Patient\u00bb) and from the <em>mythology<\/em> (\u00abThe Little Mermaid\u00bb).<\/p>\n<p>The visitor has the opportunity to tour the museum and the workshop and find out the <em>aesthetic<\/em> and <em>artistic<\/em> proposal, <em>traditional<\/em> elements (activities of the inhabitants of Crete\/Greece in a society that is changing constantly and dramatically, customs and traditions) <em>folklore<\/em> elements (for example, the marking of the animals), <em>sociological<\/em> data (the family structure, the position of man and woman), <em>historical evidences <\/em>(for example, inside the trunks of the trees which were collected from the monasteries of Arkadi and Vosakos I discovered many bullets from the revolution of the Greeks against the Turks), etc. Visiting the museum can be combined with significant antiquities of Axos, which has a continues history of 4000 years, as well as other notable places in the region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The dimensions of the sculptures are in a natural size, while some of them are presented in bigger dimensions, such as \u00abThe Eagle and the Snake\u00bb approximately six metres long, \u00abMy Parents and I\u00bb approximately three metres height, \u00abThe Little Mermaid\u00bb five metres long.<\/p>\n<p>The timbers were collected from different parts of Crete, mainly dead trees or eradicated from natural destructions. I was born in 1981.
