This project is made from one piece of wood where i had found in the area of the historic monastery Arkadi.The tree was dry,dead when i found it.

The sculpture is called and depicts the moment in which Jesus was taken to heaven.His mother Virgin Maria is crying and wipes the wound of Jesus made by the guard when Jesus asked for water. At the top of the Cross i carved the inscription JESUS OF NAZARETH KING OF JEWS inscription placed by the Romans on the Cross. By coincidence,natural two-tones of the wood appeared on the face of Jesus. It could be argued that the two-tones reveal the two aspects of Jesus,Divine and Human.
